Here is The Synopsis:

On the morning of her sixteenth birthday, Renée Winters was still an ordinary girl. She spent her summers at the beach, had the perfect best friend, and had just started dating the cutest guy at school. No one she’d ever known had died. But all that changes when she finds her parents dead in the Redwood Forest, in what appears to be a strange double murder.

After the funeral Renée’s wealthy grandfather sends her to Gottfried Academy, a remote and mysterious boarding school in Maine, where she finds herself studying subjects like Philosophy, Latin, and the “Crude Sciences.”

It’s there that she meets Dante Berlin, a handsome and elusive boy to whom she feels inexplicably drawn. As they grow closer, unexplainable things begin to happen, but Renée can’t stop herself from falling in love. It’s only when she discovers a dark tragedy in Gottfried’s past that she begins to wonder if the Academy is everything it seems.

Little does she know, Dante is the one hiding a dangerous secret, one that has him fearing for her life.

Dead Beautiful is both a compelling romance and thought-provoking read, bringing shocking new meaning to life, death, love, and the nature of the soul.

I’ve now read all three books in The trilogy and I loved them all. Dead Beautiful is a fast pace, fantasy, paranormal romance; and overall a fantastic book.

Renee lived a typical life a sixteen year old girl lives in California. On The Day of her sixteenth birthday she discovers both her parents Dead in The forest. That stars a whole chain of events. Her grandfather then comes since he is now her legal guardian. He moves her to Maine (all The way across The country) and tells her she will be attending This new private school called Gottfried Academy. She is obviously very upset about other at first, but once she gets there she starts to realize that some things are different. She learns that other students have died The same way as her parents.

A little background on The plot and the characters:
The Undead
If you are under The age of 21 and you die and don’t have a proper burial you wake nine days later as an Undead. You’re goal is to roam The earth and find your soul which has been Reborn into a new human being that was delivered to This world The same Day you died. You are given 21 years to do So. As those 21 years approach you begin to slowly decay like a corpse (loosing your eye sight, hearing, ect..) until you eventually die once The years are up.
Dante Berlin is an Undead.

The Monitors
Monitors are special people who can smell The Undead. They are trained to bury Undead once they’ve been deemed dangerous. I forgot to mention This earlier but Undead can take any random persons soul to feel a momentary burst of life and also to extend their Undead life span, doing This in turn kills The human they took The soul from. Also there are only 3 ways to kill an Undead:
1- bury them (or put them underground )
2- set them on fire
3- mummify them
Monitors are trained to do So. They can easily track The Undead unlike any other humans -who can’t sense them at all – because they were born with The ability.
Renee Winters is a Monitor.
As were her parents.

You can start to see a part of The problem here…. Renee and Dante fall in love. But there’s more complications to their story.
This might start to sound cheesy to you but I promise you it’s not. Im just really bad at explaining books :D. Anyways it’s a very interesting story, and although The love story is a huge part of The Series, it’s not entirely what The whole story is about.

I hope you’re interested and check it out 🙂
I’ve rated The Series probably a 4.5-5/5 🌟
Check out my review of Love Reborn which is the post before/after this one 🌷
