TMI & TID which to read first?

So the question:

Should I read The Mortal Instruments first or The Infernal Devices first?
I come to you today with a simple way to figure out your answer to that questions.
Here we go, think about the question I’m about to ask you, and answer genuinely.

Would you rather go back to the past or go to the future?
If you answered go back to the past then you should read TMI first and then TID. Why? Because you’d prefer going back in time already knowing the future, and reading them in that order will be doing just that.

Hope this helped! If you’d like to know, I’d rather go back in the past. Hence, I read TID after TMI.
I know Cassie and others recommend reading them in the publication order, and If you can do that then props to you, and definitely do. I myself probably could not. Once you start reading Clockwork Angel, you’ll most likely won’t want to stop and pick up the next TMI book instead, so it’ll be hard.
The publication order If you’re interested:

-City of Bones {2007}
-City of Ashes {2008}
-City of Glass {2009}
-Clockwork Angel {2010}
-City of Fallen Angels {2011}
-Clockwork Prince {2011}
-City of Lost Souls {2012}
-Clockwork Princess ♡ {2013}
-City of Heavenly Fire {2014}
★ I might of switched up CP and CoFA, but I think it’s right ★

If you don’t want to do the publication order way, nor do you want to do the past/future way; then I have another way.

Read it in that order:
There, now you have three ways (:
Whatever you do, make sure you read all 3 of The Infernal Devices BEFORE reading City of Heavenly Fire.
Xoxo ♡
Also Happy 4th July everyone(who celebrates it) !♡♥♡

    Wish I had read this like a year ago. I read The Infernal Devices thinking they were first. Then I started The Mortal Instruments. Still makes sense. I think that’s the chronological order? Still haven’t read Heavenly fire… Building suspense for a bit longer.

      Yea it will still make sense whichever way the series are read, they’re not dependent on one another. Technically time-wise that is the chronological order (:
      Wow that must be hard, but CoHF was pretty amazing, I hope you don’t get spoiled! The longer you wait the more likely you are to get spoiled. I hope you enjoy it when you do read it though, and thanks for commenting (: x

    However u want to read this, it doesnt matter. Tmi or tid first, or tid and then tmi. Just be sure to read the series in their proper order. Just because these are good and awesome books! I love them all!
