I’m pretty sure you’ve all read this series already, and I’m one of the very few late bloomers. All I’m going to say is that the book was amazing, if you have not read it yet, please do because it’s fantastic. Her writing is fantastic, her characters are fantastic, her plot is fantastic, the cover is fantastic ( I do prefer it over the UK versions) and overall the book is fantastic. I’ve been spoiled ridiculously for this series, but I don’t think it’ll affect my liking of it. I’ve only seen The Order of the Phoenix movie fully, the others I have either only seen select scenes or nothing at all. I’m planning on watching each movie after reading each book. Anyways that’s it for the non spoiler section.

Harry’s aunt and uncle, what a bunch of horrible people, and their son… ugh. I was just waiting for Harry to get his letter, because I couldn’t stand the way they were treating him. Then the letter came, and they kept hiding it from him, until Hagrid finally came and brought it to him. Then they went to the bank, then shopping and then he met Draco, it was great. When he met the Weasley’s, I was so happy because it was the first time he and Ron met, and also Ginny and I felt like I was watching history being made lol. Ron and Harry’s friendship was the cutest thing. Then they met Hermione and that was fabulous. I never knew that they didn’t all start off as friends, so that was surprising, then when the chapter after the troll and they were like since then Hermione Granger became their friend I cried; The Golden Trio had officially been formed. The whole line in the train when Hermione told Ron “you have dirt on your nose” I loved that because it reminded me so much of Percy and Annabeth in The Lighting Thief when she said “you drool when you sleep” ♥.

Then came the sorting hat and I already knew they were all going to be Gryffindor ( I am also actually, I took this really good quiz here, but I knew that from the start ) but it was still so great.

Then there was Quidditch, which I thought I was never going to get, but it’s actually fairly simple, and I already love the game. I loved the fact that Harry was a natural.He always belonged here.

Then there was the whole deal with the Sorcerer’s Stone (Philosopher’s Stone whatever) and I knew that’s what Fluffy was guarding because the titles tend to be real things (Azkaban and the Goblet of Fire). I’ve been spoiled on A LOT of things concerning this series, as to be expected. I know who Harry ends up with, who Ron ends up with, a couple of the people who die. I saw the 5th movie at the movies when it came out. I haven’t seen the rest, except for the first one that I watched last night after finishing the book. I have to say, it was a very good movie and adaptation, they kept basically everything, a couple of lines where told differently, and a couple of things went down differently, like with Hagrid’s dragon but I didn’t mind, it was a very good adaptation. When I was reading the book, I couldn’t help reading it with a british accent, especially Ron’s parts. I love all those characters. The end I didn’t expect, I didn’t expect it to be Quirrell, so that was a nicely done plot twist.

I don’t know what else to say besides that I really loved this book, and the movie. I really want to go to Hogwarts now. I’m excited to continue on this series. It took me this long to read because every time I would see a HP book, it would be one of the last 4 ( the big ones) and I always automatically thought, I’d never be able to get through them, but after getting through CoHF in 3 days, I now know that if I’m very invested in the story, no matter how big the book is, I’ll get though it rather quickly. I wish I had read this when I was 11, but my brother’s read it when they were around my age right now, so I don’t think I’m missing out really by reading it a few years later.
