Unpopular Opinions TAG

Hey guys, I’ve been nominated for countless awards and tags and I just want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone! I know I haven’t really been doing them, but I really do appreciate you guys thinking of me. Also, if you ever nominate me for something, please leave a comment on my ABOUT Page as opposed to just my recent post because that’ll make it easier for me to find it, whenever I do the TAG or Award Post. Someone actually did tag me to do this recently, but I can’t find the comment, so if it was you, let me know and thank you! I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile.

Here are the questions:

1. A popular book or series that you didn’t like

This series, I don’t hate it, but I don’t like it either. I honestly probably finished the series just for Patch, but Nora, was a no-no. I started this book while I was on the road, so that’s why I continued. I gave Crescendo (the sequel) 2 stars, it was that bad, but I still kept reading, because this was before I got into blogging, and I just really like to finish what I start.

2. A popular book or series that everyone else seems to hate but you love

I read this series I think back in 2013, I don’t remember if I watched the movie first or after, but I read them before I heard anything bad about them. I marathoned the series, and I really enjoyed them. I still have to read Dangerous Creatures, but I do enjoy this world and this book. It got frustrating at times, but not enough for me to stop.

3. A love triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with or an OTPย you didn’t like

I always pick right lol, my streak hasn’t been broken, at least not that I can remember. I mean Throne of Glass is still going on but #TEAMDORIAN, I mean then Rowan is like … but I don’t think that’s going to happen, I mean it just, like just wait for my QoS review when I’m done with itย lol. Dorian is endgame, and that’s final. For the Grisha trilogy, I’m still on The Darkling’s side, but I have to read more. Actually, I could’ve picked VA for this, but after reading Bloodlines, I’m good with who she ended up with. The 5th Wave I’m going for Evan. The Kiss of Deception, I’m still deciding but I think I’m with Kaden, but I’m like pretty sure she’d probably going to end upย with Rafe, idk.

4. A popular book genre that you hardly reach for

Horror.

5. A popular or beloved character that you do not like

Chaol Westfall. I liked him through the first 2 books, but now he just gets on my nerves.

Dimitri Belikov, I’m sorry, but I never got the whole appeal, I didn’t dislike him, but he wasn’t all that either.

Alec Lightwood. I’m really sorry but I never liked him, like I started appreciating his character more in COHF after the Pie scence, but even then, I still don’t really like him. I think Magnus deserves a lot better, I’m sorry.

6. A popular author that you can’t seem to get into

Hmmm, I don’t know, I don’t think I’ve tried to get into any popular author and not been able to.

7. A popular book trope that you’re tired of seeing (examples: “lost princess”, corrupt ruler, love triangles, etc.)

Weak protagonist that doesn’t know her worth and has to find this guy to help her realize it. I haven’t read any book where the protagonist is a male, and he’s weak, so why does it always happen with the females.

What I actually do want to see is a love triangle, but where the guy is the center of it. I do enjoy love triangles, but only if they’re done right, like in The Infernal Devices, and not like the one in The Selection.

8. A popular series that you have no interest in reading

It just doesn’t seem like my thing, and I didn’t really enjoy the writing from what I read of Pretties.

9. The saying goes “the book is always better than the movie”, but what movie or T.V. show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?

I think I’mย going to go with Jane Eyre. I just read the book and while I enjoyed it, I think I enjoyed the movie more. I loved how the movie was told, and I think the book should’ve probably been told the exact same way. I know I there are many versions but I’m talking about the one that came out in 2011, it’s on Netflix.

  1. I share a lot of this “unpopular” opinions with you.

I really enjoyed the Beautiful Creatures series–one of my personal favourites.

And I whole heartedly agree with you about girls not finding their worth until a man comes along. It irks me endlessly! I also want more books with males in the centre of a love triangle. I find guys in books are always hit on by girls but they never seem to have two serious love interests to make a love triangle.

  2. It’s definitely because of Dimitri’s ponytail and duster coat… I have no idea why Rose found that hot. And yes TEAM DORIAN ALL THE WAY! I really should get to reading Heir of Fire.

I just hate it stories where girl meets boy who tells her how awesome she is and then she finally believes that she’s awesome. Why do we need a guy for that to happen? Why couldn’t she just discover herself by herself?

  3. Can I just say that I am totally rooting for Rowan. But at the same time I am rooting for Dorian. So many people gave up of Chaol after reading Queen of Shadows so I don’t even know about him anymore! But as of now I’m totally on no ship right now.

      1. I kind of wished it wasn’t doomed, but I guess I will now be forced to give up in that little part of me!
Oh gosh I think I already know who I’m going to ship… I need to stay away from the Queen of Shadow chats and reviews! Hehe. ๐Ÿ’“
Yes, when I’m done I promise to chat and chat until we can’t find anything else to say.
